COmanage & TAP Components

COmanage is an open-source collaboration management platform focused on streamlining digital lifecycle management for your populations. It supports invitation and enrollment services, notifications, group management, and provisioning.

The COmanage Project consists of COmanage Registry, COmanage Match, and numerous plugins. The platform is designed for both enterprise-wide deployments and smaller research groups and is part of the InCommon Trusted Access Platform (TAP).


Support for the Community, Support for You

SCG offers two programs to help sustain the COmanage Project and to help support you with your COmanage deployment.

Operational Sustainability Programme

The Operational Sustainability Programme (OSP) provides funding for the operations and infrastructure work associated with the COmanage Project. This includes bug fixes, release management, documentation, and other tasks necessary to maintain the Project. The OSP works a bit like public radio… we set a fund raising goal, and look to members of the community to help reach that goal in order to keep providing the software that you rely on.

OSP Funding operates on a calendar year basis. OSP Funders are recognized at the following contribution levels:

Supporter USD 5,000
Bronze USD 15,000
Silver USD 25,000
Gold USD 50,000

(A one time charge to cover initial paperwork costs may be assessed to new funders.)

SCG manages the OSP on behalf of the COmanage Project. Contributions to the OSP accrue to the benefit of the community.

SCG Priority Hours

SCG Priority Hours provide "top of the queue" support for subscribers. Available exclusively to OSP Funders, Priority Hours are an optional add-on. While SCG is unable to offer 24x7 operational support, Priority Hours receive the highest internal priority and will generally be placed at the top of the queue for response. Priority Hours may be used for any COmanage related project, though there are some limitations on use for feature development ("RFEs").

Priority Hours operate on a calendar year basis to align with the OSP, are invoiced up front, and expire at the end of the year (with some limited exceptions). Priority Hours are available in alignment with OSP recognition levels:

Subscribers are limited to one Priority Hours package per calendar year.

SCG and the Comanage Project

SCG Collaboration Group is the steward of the COmanage Project. As such, SCG will:

  • Continue the open source development of the COmanage platform by understanding and implementing the identity management requirements of research and higher education organizations
  • Provide identity management consulting services around COmanage and other open source identity management software tools
  • Help organizations understand, prepare for, and implement identity management infrastructure based on federated identity
